One Solar Tech Inc. service is helping clients with the process of solar grants and the Solar Renewable Energy Credits, a.k.a. SREC's. The process takes time but the benefits are huge when buying a Solar Electric or Solar Hot Water system. The incentives help with the payback period.
Maryland is benefited with having net metering, solar grants,
and has a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS). A great source for all information on Federal Tax Credits, Solar Grants, and Efficiencies is the DSIRE website Please check out: www.dsireusa.org
For both solar hot water and solar electric systems (PV), a taxpayer that puts in either of these systems is eligible to claim a credit of 30 % of the system cost.
Please review: http://energy.maryland.gov for the lastest grant information.
SREC's are available in states where Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) exists with a focus on Solar Energy. If you own a PV System you are eligible to create SREC certificates to see your production from your system to utilities that need to meet their requirements to show compliance with the state's RPS.
The SREC is separate from what an owner uses and produces at their home or business. SREC represent the attributes from the solar facility. SREC's are sold in mwh of products over a solar year. 1KW is 1MW.
Solar Tech Inc. aggregrates the PV systems that have been installed. Solar Tech Inc. offers their clients the ease of applying for RECs and offering the best rates that are available. Please contact us about the SRECs.
A Note about kW and kWh
Electricity use is measured in terms of a thousand (k) watts (W) of power used over an hour, or kilowatt hour (kWh). The size of a PV system is described in terms of kilowatts (kW).
For example, a common residential system is 4.0 kW,
meaning that the system can produce close to 4,000 watts
at maximum output.
